Recently, it was learned from Guangdong Gaoming Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that the candy manufacturing industry in Gaoming has maintained its traditional advantages and developed steadily, and its overseas influence has continued to increase, especially in the "the Belt and Road" market. According to the statistics of Gaoming Bureau, in 2017, the total export of candy in the jurisdiction was 275.26 tons, with a value of about 60 million yuan, up 7.3% and 10.2% respectively year on year. Among them, the export volume of countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road" is 188.43 tons and the value of goods is 41 million yuan, accounting for nearly 70% of the total export volume.
The "the Belt and Road" initiative has brought new development opportunities for enterprises, but also put forward higher quality requirements. Many countries are increasingly strict with the technical trade measures such as melamine and pigment set in China's export of candy. When the products of cotton sugar leading enterprises in Gaoming District are exported to Thailand, the other party requires the official certificate that the products are free of mad cow disease virus, otherwise they will not be imported. In order to solve the urgent need of enterprises, Gaoming Bureau put forward a scheme of whole-process traceability management and certification, that is, to strengthen the detection of gelatin raw materials that may bring BSE virus into the cotton candy production process, and supervise the enterprises to make records of the whole-process production control of all raw materials, so as to ensure that each bag of cotton candy products can provide scientific and reasonable basis without BSE virus. This practice has been recognized by the Thai side. The enterprise has successfully saved more than 6 million yuan of trade with Thailand and effectively avoided increasing the cost and time of re-testing before export.
In the next step, Gaoming Bureau will continue to strengthen the quality and safety control, do a good job in customs clearance services, actively guide enterprises to use the dividend of preferential policies of origin to improve the competitiveness of export products, and further help promote enterprises under its jurisdiction to enter the international market.
